“Coach Free” Soccer Allies 4v4 League

 League Rules:

 1)     Each team must have a Team Manager to help with: the organization/specific needs of their team for the league, updates about schedules, and helping players on their team between games. Team Managers will be the main “Point of Contact” for the Soccer Allies Staff.

2)     Teams will be split into divisions based on either age or desired playing level from parents and players on each team. The idea is to keep the playing field as even as possible.

3)     Our goal is to have boys against boys and girls against girls. Yet, if the skill level is higher for some more than others and both the parents and players are okay with it, we may have boys teams playing against girls teams and vice versa.

4)     Field dimensions: 18 x 25 yards

5)     Proper equipment must be worn at all times. This includes shin guards and outdoor or indoor cleats.

6)     Teams can wear their own uniforms but jerseys must all be the same color. There will be pennies on sight if uniforms are too close in color. The “Home Team” will be required to wear the pennies during the game.

7)     Please arrive to the fields at least ten minutes early. We will be starting the game clock for all three fields at the same time.

8) Games will be played on ScoreOKC’s outdoor field.

Game Rules:

1)     Games will be 40 minutes long with two 20-minute halves. There will be mandatory subs every five minutes.

2)     There will be no coaching, except for younger teams that feel it is necessary to have coach/team manager on sidelines to help with substitutions. Players will rotate amongst themselves.

3)     There will be a 3-minute halftime.

4)     Teams will switch sides at half time.

5)     Kick-off will be at half-line after every goal scored. Ball can move forward or backwards off of the kick-off.

6)     No throw-ins. Only kick-ins. When the entire ball goes over the touchline, the team that did not touch the ball last will be awarded a kick-in at the spot where the ball went over the touchline.

7)     Goal Kicks: When the entire ball goes over the end line and was last touched by the team attacking that specific goal, the team that did not touch the ball last will be awarded a goal kick from a designated spot on the end line.

a.     The opposing team must move all players behind half line before the ball is played in.

b.     Once the ball is played in, the opposing team can move passed half line to defend.

c.     Ideally the attacking team will put the ball into play once the opposing team is behind half line. Yet, if the attacking team plays the ball in before the opposing team is behind half line, they must accept the positioning of the opposing team and the consequences of how play resumes.

8)     Corner Kicks: When the entire ball goes over the end line and was last touched by the team defending that specific goal, the team that did not touch the ball last will be awarded a corner kick. The defending team must allow 5 yards of space to the player playing the ball in the field.

9)     Goal Box: A 3-yard box will be in front of each goal. Players from either team can never touch the ball as it is in the box.

a.     If a defending player touches the ball inside of the 3-yard box, the attacking team will be awarded a penalty kick.

b.     If an attacking player touches the ball inside of the 3-yard box, the defending team will be awarded a free kick.

                             i. Just like a goal kick, the opposing team must move all players behind half line before the ball is played in.

c.     If the ball ever stops moving in the 3-yard box, the team that did not touch it last will be awarded a goal kick from their end line.

10)  Penalty kick: A penalty kick will be awarded to the attacking team when a player is fouled during a clear scoring opportunity. Typically, penalties will only be awarded on breakaways or if a defending player deliberately touches the ball within the 3-yard box.

a.     The penalty will be taken from half line. There will be no goalie. The ball must be stationary before being kicked. A goal will be allowed if the entire ball crosses over the goal line.

11)  Extra Player: If a team is beating the other time by 4 goals or more in a particular game, the trailing team is allowed to put another player on the field. If the team decreases the gap to 3 goals, they must remove the fifth player.

 Scoring Format:

 Points for the League

1)     Win-3 points, Tie-1 point, Loss-0 points

2)     Every point scored within a game is added to the total points for each team. Not counting the end result, there is a maximum of 6 points that can be scored for each team within the game (either through goals or proof of concept by using certain touches, skills, or moves).

3)     Overall, a team can get a maximum of 9 points if they win their game and receive 6 points within their games based on goals or specific touches. A few examples, if Team A beats Team B 12-1, Team A will receive 9 league points and Team B will receive 1 league point. If Team A beats Team B 5-3, Team A will receive 8 league points and Team B will receive 3 league points. If Team A beats Team B 1-0, Team A will receive 4 league points and Team B will receive 0 league points.

4)     Standings will be updated every week.

5) There will be 6 league games. The last Monday night will be Championship Night in which 1st place in standings will play 2nd place, 3rd plays 4th, etc. The winning team of each game will be seeded higher in the final standings with the winner of 1st place against 2nd place being crowned champions!

 Points Within A Game

1)     Each goal scored in a game is worth 1 point.

Schedule & Reschedule:

1)     We will try to alternate start times for each team every week. Please make it a point to try to have players attend every game as rescheduling is going to be very tough.

Uniforms:

1) Teams are responsible for their own uniforms. Please have all players match as close as possible. Remember there are no goalies. Soccer Allies will have pinnies on site in case of a color conflict between uniforms of different teams.
